Velocity Hawaiian Airlines Redemption

Did 4 seats return in business pre Covid but with Brisbane flight gone, almost impossible to get seats too far in advance now. Some close in availability 2-3 months prior to departure does open up. AA site is good for searching.

Im trying to redeem flights around the x-mas break using VFF points. Using the AA website, there are no direct flights with H.A departing SYD or BNE around 20-24th December. There are quite a few QANTAS codeshare/operated though.

I was able to find a HA flight dept AKL which is an option, but any thought as to why there are no HA flights departing SYD/BNE arounds those dates, and that they are all QANTAS?

Flights from HNL - SYD on the return leg are available.

All the above flights are in the main cabin, will take anything around that time of the year!

What is the best way to check availability to Hawaii using Velocity points. Is it still through AA website? and does it hold true that if available here, it will be available with Velocity when you call Virgin? Thanks!
