Probably also those who have "Market Research" selected in their preferences.

Another thread (regarding BP offers) highlighted the fact that setting preferences for communications is key. I've been a complete dope in this regard and had nothing selected.

I'm WP and only fly Y and most of my miles this year have been on SQ metal, only 1 VA codeshare and also have no status with QFF

Id be interested in the logic behind target emails but suspect it would have something to do with your profile settings as suggested

If you don't get the survey I guess virgin doesn't value your business. Haha.

Just did the survey (I received it a week ago). coughpy survey which has the ring of the reverse possibility. Like fly ahead for example and guaranteed OS partner lounge access. Most respondents would likely have chosen other "carrots" and left these as choices as we already get them. What's the bet they now come out and say, "Fly Ahead is to be axed as we asked our members and they weren't interested in it".

Some of the others were just purely carrots, like the complementary taxi. If that happens, it will only be for the new top tier, which sounded like they're thinking about 2000SCs or more and only when flying business, but in reality, I'd think that's just a pipe dream designed to draw attention away from the more realistic.

I think out of all of it, the most realistic was life time status. I think they need that to stay competitive. I say that from personal experience, because when I started the survey, it made me realise just how drawn in I was by VA status. Basically all my commercial flying with VA (about 50 fights a year) and certainly for the last year or so, it's been predominantly flexi/J. That's what I would consider a higher value flyer than I was to them say two or three years ago. Yet here I am, just starting to fly higher value JQ flights, to get to QF life time status.....at the expense of VA. They have to do the life time thing, or wave goodbye to more and more higher value clients.

The one omission I am a bit worried about, is row 3. Not a single word, yet I have no doubt that row 3 value must be a consideration for them.

I'd say targeting for a campaign like this would be fairly random.

It's really trying to get a consensus on what the majority of Platinums would like to see, so I can't imagine they'd want to skew it by targeting a particular type of member. Doesn't seem to be interested in Golds but I could be wrong.

But then, maybe they'd target more (or even less?) engaged members since they are probably more discerning (or not).

Some of the options just made no sense to me. I went mainly for meals in lounge and lifetime status.

I fly enough to qualify for WP yearly but from next year I am considering switching my earn to SQ or NZ. I probably won't earn enough to gift someone SG or WP so that also didnt really interest me

Given we can already "gift" gold and platinum, I sort of took that to mean one earns plat, two get it, right from day one.

I did think about that, but then thought that would be crazy because it completely devalues the status (even more than it already is)

I honestly think just need to make a real distinguishing difference between SG & WP and a little improvement in the lounge and I'd be content. I don't see the point of WP as there really isn't that much of a difference over SG, Row 3 excluding, and when it comes to International travel there is no difference at all

Last week when I checked in my bag at Cairns airport they asked if I wanted a drink to be ready for me when I got to the lounge. So they might already be trying some of these things in the survey. I declined the drink offer but that's something I didn't vote for in the survey!

That seems nice, but a tad pointless to me. Are we all that bigger alcho's that we can't walk past the desk, turn the corner and request a beer? The biggest thing I worried about with the drink waiting, or table service type questions, was whether they intend to add/train staff. There certainly aren't enough staff at present to do that successfully and for it to work, the staff would need to be very skilled or it will against them. I liked the idea of complementary valet parking tickets, but you know what I'd appreciate more?.....just make valet parking a point earner. How hard is that? I'm at a loss to understand why it isn't already.

Another thought from me, is about the baggage delivery questions. Am I the only one that thinks getting VA to either deliver your carry on to the plane or deliver your checked to a hotel is just a shemozzle waiting to happen? Really? As if I'm going to give my hand luggage to them and say "thanks, I trust you not to lose all my most wanted items for this flight".... or sit in a hotel room waiting days for my luggage to arrive! I don't even let the porters take my luggage to the room because I don't like waiting an hour for it, how would it be with VA!

I would be happy if checked bags tagged priority will come out before 70% of the other paxs. I swear the handlers make a game of holding our bag till as late as possible. Im sure they have more important things to do with their lives but it feels this way some days.

Never ever had that problem.
My bags have usually been the first off.

The baggage delivery was pointless to me, especially when airlines make a big deal about asking if you packed your bags today and know what's in them. Just opens up a massive can of worms and it's only a case of when something goes wrong

Totally agree but don't complain. They will strike again.

+ eleventy. They're not always late though. Just randomly allocated. I've honestly thought that the whole 'priority baggage' thing is just to make you feel special at check-in, and the tags don't really mean anything after that

I think lifetime status is a good idea, not really much diff between gold and WP really so they could change that up a bit. I think that the lounges are good as they are but I would like suprise upgrades to business when they are vacant, even as late as gate lounge domestically.
I hope that they never change fly ahead, I use it 2-4 times each month, nothing better than getting home a bit early and surprising the kids.

I know I'm going to be the oddball on this one, but I hope they do anything but! I like the fact that the business cabin remains just a little bit exclusive (even although I'm in zoo more than J) and if they start throwing freebie upgrades around like confetti, it'll become like QF J.......full of holier than thou, WPs on an upgrade, which makes it chockers, uncomfortable and a slightly lower class of establishment. I'm going to hate myself for this, but here goes....a bit of praise for VA.......QF J seems a bit like a lounge bar in the hustle and bustle of a local workers pub, whereas VA J seems more like a lounge at a classy restaurant that you might relax in with pre-dinner drinks with friends.....sort of.

Just received a survey from Virgin Australia asking opinions on varying member benefits for Platinum members. Very interesting to see some of the things they are considering including lifetime Gold and Platinum Status, an additional higher tier etc. and what the outcome will be over the coming months I guess

First Airline to offer Lifetime Platinum gets my business, I am already lifetime Gold with QF and have accrued enough Status Credits for 3 Platinum Memberships, (over 38,000 since I started) but they still refuse to even entertain Lifetime Platinum, QF have their head in the sand on this matter. If a Member has say, 10 years of Platinum Membership and over 20,000 Status Credits, surely there should be a reward.

Really surprised how many VFF points are needed to travel on Singapore. Something like 5 times the amount of VFF points required than for the same SQ Krisflyer redemption. WHAT A RIPOFF!!!!
