Velocity Plat reward flight with Etihad - MEL to LHR- Lounges/Perks?

Thankyou Thibault! My Etihad doesn't show the extra baggage allowance but I'm going to go with the advice here (and my gut) and assume I have the extra 10kg allowance. I will have my silver card and am going to print out all information I can find from VA and Etihad websites. I'm moving overseas and my shipping container won't arrive for months so every kg is precious!

Yes there was no problems!! However I'm still very annoyed at the Kafka-esque situation I had trying to find out in advance from either VA or Etihad customer service! Ultimately i took confidence from this forum and just turned up with 40kg baggage and hoped for the best.

VA plat travelling on an Aeroplan award on Etihad, Velocity number not in the booking (doesn’t seem to be able to be added on line as the Aeroplan number is fixed?)… any issues with using the F lounge in AUH? Or do I need to somehow get my VA number into the booking?

I'd ask again at check in but in AUH it's not a major issue. Obviously if you can get it on your boarding pass it's a simple scan to enter but otherwise they can type it in at the lounge entry.

Can you +1 your partner in the EY F lounge as WP VA?
Kids free? Under 12yo etc?

Just out of interest.

VA Plat gets access for them self plus one guest.

Technically Etihad's policy is that under 5 is free. Those 5 years and over count as the guest in the platinum allowance however it's worth noting that Etihad offer paid lounge access pricing (at last publish) is US$150 for an adult for up to 4 hours or US$180 for an adult staying 4-8 hours however these prices are discounted at 50% off.

Thanks! I also wasn’t sure if I had to have booked via EY or VA to get the benefit. But very happy to know I have access. The J class lounge at AUH is very ordinary… looking forward to the F one!

The F lounge is great. When we were there last visit a couple were entering the same time as us and just showed their VA Plat card for entry.
I’ve always found EY staff to be very good when it comes to status recognition

It doesn't matter if it's a VA or EY code, as long as the flight is operated by EY. In the past (as recently as Dec last year) I've been fine with redemption tickets as well (although they were VA redemptions).
