Morning all,

I’m planning a trip to India and have amassed quite a few velocity points. I’m also Velocity platinum. I’m considering converting to KrisFlyer now that the conversion program has resumed. I’d like to redeem for first class tickets seeing as there seems to be plenty of availability. Firstly I’d like to know if there’s a way to know if the A380 to Delhi and Mumbai are the new first class product or the older one? Also as a velocity platinum member, what lounge entitlements would I get flying with Singapore airlines even if they were economy tickets? Appreciate the help.

As a velocity Platinum , you get access to the Krisflyer Gold lounge and a guest can accompany.

If you are planning to book a F reward ticket , I think the chances are slim unless your travel date is atleast 7-8 months out. Also did you try checking the availability on velocity website before transferring them to krisflyer.

All the best.

Thanks for the reply. I’m looking at Singapore to Delhi and on the dates I’ve looked there seems to be plenty of availability for F reward and it’s not waitlist either unless I’m not understanding it correctly.

As long as you are getting the seats , go for it . I travelled last week MEL - DEL but could not find even a J class , forget about F class rewards.

Wow. I’ve had a look at my dates in October and can seem to find plenty availability SYD - DEL but the first leg is on a 777. Non waitlist seems to be 213k miles or 98k on the SIN - DEL.

Did you end up booking the F reward or you are still on the look out for availability ?

Sorry mate forgot to reply. Yes I have secured a seat in suites to Delhi for early October that was not waitlisted. The app shows as in flight meal available from 20th September but honestly not too fussed about food. I’ve only ever flown business with SG back to South Africa and food was pretty good.
