Recently bought a round the world ticket, flying:

1. VA on VA metal: SYD->HKG (while it was still a route!)
2. VA on VS metal: HKG -> LHR
3. VS on VS metal: LHR -> SFO
4. DL on DL metal: SFO -> LAX
5. VS on DL metal: LAX -> SYD

I got velocity points / status credited for legs 1-4, but not on 5. All the flights were in J

Waited for the usual ~2-3 weeks and then submitted a retro request. It came up with:

"Unsuccessful: Waiting for response from partner".

I've called up to find out what was going on, but the person on the phone claims I might not be eligible for points since it was a VS ticket for DL, not a VA ticket. That seems odd to me since both VS and DL are velocity partners. Anyone else had such an issue?

You wont get points or status credits on sector 5.
With partners you wont earn on codeshares unless it's on VA metal.

I posted this query recently if anyone did have an experience of earning on such a scenario as sector 5 and every seemed the answer was no.

I recently bought a combined VS and DL ticket and ensured there was no code-sharing between VS and DL.
