Trying to score some points redemption opportunities for a future trip to Disneyland. But after endless searches between here and next April - I have found exactly zippity doo dah reward seat availability in J for SYD-LAX. I've even looked at BNE-LAX or MEL-LAX but come up empty.

The 330 day theory is losing it's lustre. Is anyone finding success?

There are a few seats around but they are snapped up rather quickly.

Saw one for VA8 next March last week but it was gone two hours later.

Look, look and keep looking.

Also there are quite a few PE seats around for next March.

I looked one night this week, managed to find SYD-LAX on a Tue/Wed/Thur 20-22 Mar and a LAX-SYD for one of those dates....problem I'll face is rolling the dice on a SYD-LAX leg and hoping that a LAX-SYD will pop up that's suitable a week or so later.....

I would just love to see a calendar view of available reward seats - it would make life so much easier. I know that is probably way too simple, but what difference would it be to Velocity if the seats were snapped up this way?

There are techniques to speed up searches.

After getting your original availabilty display it is much faster to use the date tabs near the top to move your search forwards and backwards one day/week at a time.

I did a quick search for a J class LAX-BNE/SYD/MEL for my brother back in March for a 3 day window in September of this year thinking it would be fruitless, found two options for him but he was unsure on his exact plans (reliant on wedding party plans). He finally locked his plans down 2 weeks ago and i checked again and to my surprise got him a LAX-MEL, this guy is blessed when it comes to scoring J class tickets though.

On another note relatively on topic, have i missed something re SQ reward seats? Searching for tickets from ADL to Europe next year and nothing comes up with SQ ex ADL-SIN even as sold out. Search via currency and the option is there, as soon as I change to view in points the ADL-SIN-Europe option disappears... It does show me SQ via MEL though

Sometimes the VA website doesn't display all the options for SQ awards routing through SIN, particularly if there is a long-ish layover in SIN. If you can't see any flights online, you can try calling Velocity.
