I know that carrier fees have been added and some legs for point have slightly increased but......

Looking for a flight from SIN - MEL in business and redemption is 139k points + $228 per person

The strangest thing is that its the same amount of points from FRA - SIN - MEL at 139k points + $470.67

The after 5 October 2022 redemption SIN - MEL (3752 miles) which should be zone 6 at 67k points

Is this an error/ glitch or am I missing something?

I think something has gone wrong in Velocity land - same issue for me this morning when looking for 2pax it wants 400k pts on the next screen :eek:1664927736444.png

Interesting as the error must only be affecting the new zones that have changed and not zone 12 flights such as FRA - MEL via SIN

This is clearly an error. While Velocity did change its reward charts slightly today, the increases were nowhere near that high. I'm sure this will be fixed soon.

That was my view as well, lets hope it changes soon

I'm a bit confused. Isn't the points in your screenshot the cost per person?
so 2 pax would be 404400...?
Yes that's correct, 2 people would be 404,400 (without paying fees)

Yet its the same amount of points from FRA - MEL via SIN,

I haven't check if this has been rectified yet as it should be 67k plus taxes according to the October 5 new requirements

I understand how the points amount is wrong, just questioning about the 1 versus 2 pax thing.
I hope they fix it, because I need awards sometime in May/June, and have only found business as separate awards Oz-SIN and SIN to Europe.
Unfortunately, still waiting for dates to be confirmed.

Maybe try contact the call center and see what they can do?

I think the error will be resolved soon as the redemption table clearly states MEL - SIN to be 67k + taxes

Also, I found that SQ krisflyer had identical availability to that of Velocity... if that helps?

Thanks. I can find things, for random dates. I also have plenty of flexibility as I'll take a 2 week window for 3 days of actually needing to be in Europe.
the uncertainty is just a bit stressful

MEL-SGN should be now 71k + tax each (142k for 2), not 135k + tax. (Do acknowledge that nobody actually pays in full points, more just making the point of the bug.

I am so glad I found this thread as this has been driving me crazy today. We are due to book some flights today tomorrow and was aware that the fees/points were increasing a bit, but the points seem to have doubled which has thrown our plan into disaray!

I tried calling the call centre, once she eventually understood what I was trying to explain she said it was because there was a stop over. But then I pointed out Singapore to Melb one was was min 139k points she said she would refer it to management and told me to do an online complaint (which they say will take 10 days to respond to).

I'm not sure if I'm understanding the tables wrong but I also feel that the taxes are double what I was expecting!

Yes I believe that correct as it in zone 7 as MEL - SGN is 4,431 miles approx = 71k + taxes

MEL - SIN is 3752 miles according to the Velocity Mileage Calculator so this redemption falls under zone 6 (3,601 - 4,200 miles) one way at 67k + taxes

I was looking today out of curiosity and found the error and thought I missed something

Was the call center able to help you book at the 'correct' points and taxes?

No! I'm not convinced that she believed it was a real issue, but certainly wasn't able to help to book what we needed.

I haven't checked to see if its been fixed but lets wait and see...

Points seem to be fixed. Taxes still seem to high to me, but not 100% sure how they work it out

Thought there may be some relation to the VA carrier charges on SQ, QR etc., being calculated in US$ and the Australian $ dropping significantly. I booked 3 J class redemption tickets before 5/10 and the fees were $168. I checked the exact same routing & they are now each $370 more. Just as advised on the fb posting linked above. The Aussie $ hasn’t dropped that much though!
