Hi everyone, hoping someone could help me as to when velocity will recommence transferring points to Krisflyer?
Need to book 2 tickets asap and neither virgin or Singapore will give me an answer!
Regards
Jason

Million dollar question asked several milllion times on here… while many are waiting for this to occur to move their points out, it is not confirmed that it is happening yet.

A couple of press releases have hinted it is coming back but no timelines, conversion rates or dates have been committed.

Some members think the transfer, if it returns will be ‘enhanced’ to a poorer conversion rate but this is just a guess.

Thanks jakeseven7. Appreciate the quick response.👍
Any sneaky ideas of a bypass to convert to krisflyer with another program that has a descent conversion?

Converting points was only possible between VA1's VFF and SQ KF because one owned the other, or part owned.
And there was perceived a benefit share between the 2.
Its very very very very unlikely that you will be able to do transfers of points between anything other than VFF to KF if it comes back.
Don't even think of sneaky bypass, as if the airline finds out of buying or selling of points outside of their "systems" you can loose your points, and your account of KF could be hamstrung, or closed.
Best not to even consider any sneaky.
I wouldn't.
Illegally, I am sure that there exist ways, but I am not going that deep, (((into the dark web))).

I was just thinking it's about time they started the conversion, but I see this happening too... maybe with "a promotion" to effectively 1.55:1 for the first month :|

I just need them to get their s**t together! Should have transferred my 180,000 ANZ straight to Krisflyer instead of trying to be gready with the velocity November bonus🙄

I wouldn’t be waiting for it. No guarantee it will be done in the next 6 months. Possibly low on the list of priorities for both airlines currently

But wouldn't you end up with more SQ points directly anyway, given that there was also an equivalent SQ November bonus?

Considering that the Velocity<>Krisflyer transfer was a reported money loser (edit: for VA) due to the 'egos' of the then-management running SQ (SQ getting money from VA due to the numerous transfers into Krisflyer) and the then-VA management (the 'get Qantas' at all costs approach).
We should be 'at least' grateful that Bain/Velocity/VA and Krisflyer/SQ are at least on the table to negotiate.

But overall Bain are a PE firm first and foremost, and they will negotiate hard to ensure that at least the Velocity<>Krisflyer transfer program is "sustainable", if not a money earner for Bain.

If all options presented by SQ/Krisflyer leads to losses for VA, Bain won't hesitate to cancel the program.

from memory...

the transfer rate from VFF to KFF was exactly the same as the Redemption rate from VFF to SQ flights.
and now that SQ flights are already available from VFF redemptions at the same rate as before, so I think thats a fairly good sign :)

If this does return, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an annual points transfer limit. :(

Indeed, out of the current predictions the Top 2 (IF it does return) it would be either it's either a annual transfer limit per year/6months, plus potential 'carrier charges' at the pre-administration (or early SQ ownership/Borghetti era) transfer rate or...

A 'unlimited' transfer limit with a devaluation as Bain attempts to make the program at least 'sustainable'.

Sorry, but I can’t find any available SQ flight from VFF redemptions… where did you find them? I tried both SYD-SIN and MEL-SIN, and there was no availability to the end of the calendar.

Do you have a source for this? Last time I checked, it's not yet possible to redeem Velocity points for Singapore Airlines flights.
