Good evening all,

I did a search but couldnt find any threads so far (I hope Im wrong).

The velocity website had an upgrade not too long ago to show points availability by weeks instead of weeks.

Im doing a search and I progress to the second page - I see availability on the date Im after then press continue, this is where the problem is as the page now shows there is no availability on that date.

I did this across a few dates and found availability then my session times out and back to square one (with no availability)....any idea what Im doing wrong?

I'm sorry, but I'm confused about what change you're referring to. You're not referring to the Singapore Airlines website, by any chance?

the change to the velocity site when searching for points redemption flights, the site now shows a week/month's worth of availability but when you click on an "available" date it then tells you its unavailable.

You're not doing anything wrong - that's the VA website. Useless as cough on a bull. I usually ring up VA CS and let them know of the inability to book things on their website, unlike the QF website. No charges for the bookings. But I'm not sure they want to spend $$ on fixing it, (it seems to me), because I still recall @eastwest101's thread vividly in the early days of the switchover from Navitaire to Sabre (and for years therafter). There were more issues than fixes.

I believe the ability to see availability for more than one day at a time is supposed to be happening. Through the Velocity app it's now possible to see availability for a few days - and that's an embedded webpage, so hopefully will make its way to the main website soon.

Hi all,

I've been using my phone to view the forums in the last few days and just noticed the printscreens posted by @serfty and @QF WP

This is what I see for a booking for 4 from Narita to Melb. I'd like to point out that the calendar clearly shows availability for the 31 Jul and 1 Aug

But when I click on either of those dates, or any "available" date and press continue, this is what I get

Interesting that the 1st Aug is available once again when I select 31 July. I'm more inclined to think its the VA website especially after @QF WP 's comment.

My experience with the Velocity member contact center over the last 3 days has been laughable at best once I found availability via another city. First they were very adamant there was no availability and started to raise their voice at me in the first instance when I said I could see availability from my end. I gave them specific dates and flight numbers to which the operator said "we can't see that flight number in our system at all". The operator asked what website I was viewing the award availability to which I answered "velocity frequent flyer website", the operator then educated me and clarified that I had to use the "Virgin Australia website", great to know they dont even know the URL to their own website. I said I'll do a quick google search of that flight number to prove it existed, I mentioned FlightAware.com is tracking the live location of the plane right now and that flight has been flying daily for as far as my page will show to which the operator responded that isnt their website, great tell me something I dont know I was thinking in my head. The operator also commented that my points balance was most likely only enough to cover 1 person assuming there was availability to begin with, I reminded the operator that I was only enquiring on the points required at this stage as each as I mentioned to her at the start of the call. I then had to convey step by step instructions to the operator beginning from the velocityFF website (not virgin australia co-incidentally) on how I found the flights to which she was able to confirm availability for 4, thinking I was at the home straight, I ran into my next problem as the operator wanted to price each segment separately which attracts 50% more points. Thanks velocity

Velocity FF website (on my laptop, could be slightly different on mobile devices)
Flying and status menu up top of the page
Book a redemption flight
Search criteria
- Tick use points +pay
- One way
- Narita to Melb
- Departing 2 aug
- Adults 4
- Premium/business
- Find flights

It wasn't me - it was @Sludge321 'who posted a screeenshot along with @serfty

Mine was merely the comment regarding my continuing frustration with VA and thus why they don't get all of my flying. Well, DSC's help to change my mind from time to time. I've not witnessed those issues in your screenshots @chk123 but I don't book VA flights with points & pay, or reward seats (unless for Mrs QF WP).

Interesting, If I do that search for 1 person then the result is similar to the screen snip I posted earlier, If I search for 2 or more I see the grid.

Could this be a browser issue? I've tried Chrome and Edge on my laptop - using the same search criteria as the OP in Velocity, but all I get is the embedded Virgin page with the usual results. I am unable to see the grid anywhere.
