VFF no more actual card, ......

I am sure there are better ways than physical cards, but they were a nice thing. They must have a really low unit cost and airlines waste so much more , especially on premium pax, through unconsumed catering, unread in-flight magazines, cleaning unused blankets, etc. Some reghular flyers will have no interest in cards, physical boarding passes or luggage tags but this occasional passenger likes them a lot. Would I pay for gold status baggage tags? Absolutely!

Googlepay reviews of the VFF app, a lot of them say excellent. but then, for 2022, 2 say 1*, 1 gave 2*.
3.2 out of 5 ratings, out of 15 people who reviewed.
A muse indeed.

The problem with having everything on the phone is exactly that.
I dropped my phone once while overseas and the replacement phone worked as a phone and not much else. So if i didn't have the physical cards I would have been stuffed.
What's more while at a hotel a couple of years ago in.....Paris, I think, they wouldn't accept my credit card because it did not have raised numbers. i.e. they were just printed on the card. Lucky I had another one.
So, yes, the plastic cards still have their place if not in Australia but the whole world does not necessarily work the way we do.

As an aside, raised numbers is or easier for fraud.
But its all chip these days so raised numbers ate s moot point.

Anyone had issues lately adding their VFF card to Apple Wallet? I get a link from Virgin when I select download digital card on the website, but when I open it on my iPhone (iOS16) I get a blank screen at apps.virginaustralia.com/ if logged in, or a login screen if not. There's no digital card to add.
