VH-ZNC damaged upon landing in PER due to debris? QF6 PER - SYD cancelled

The onward sector to Sydney,NS (Australia) was cancelled.

Good thing they noted Australia, otherwise insufficient fuel may be an issue!
AVHerald uses a 20 year out of date version of ISO 3166-2 for state codes which had Nova Scotia and New South Wales both having "NS".
If they didn't specify Australia, people (Americans) would assume they were going to Sydney, Nova Scotia.

@Melburnian1 is reporting that ZNC is still in Perf (to continue with the overseas pronunciation of Australian cities) - 10+ days and counting now - did it run over an IED?

Nope they were not :) Not sure why anyone would think this plane would be back flying in a very short period of time

Return to service next week

How tight is the 787 fleet being run? Was there enough slack to maintain the schedule with ZNC being AOG the last couple of weeks?

Read somewhere a A380 was put onto MEL LAX replacing a B787 for some flights
QF are running the wide body fleet hard. A few aircraft tech or weather delays has effect on the network.
Madrooster did a good analysis a few days ago,

Thanks for that. Yes it does seem they are running it pretty hard. Hopefully when the last of the A380’s come back online they schedule a bit more slack into the timetable.

When I flew out of PER last week it had dongas setup around it and there were A LOT of people working on it.

My office is close enough to T4 that I can see the tails of the aircraft parked at the remote stands at T4 when I walk out our front door. I went for a walk today and it was still in the same spot it’s been for weeks.

I’m flying out of PER again on Thursday, will be interesting to see if there’s been any progress.
