Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can significantly beat the following by more than $100 for $30 for thanks!! and 50cents in the dollar above $100

I don't want it to take longer than 14 hours to get to Ho Chi Minh, nor 16-17 hours to get to Da Nang

I want to goto Da Nang for 1 month between July 24th and August 4th.

Depart
#1 06 Jul Air Asia Melbourne to Ho Chi Minh via KL Air Asia $319 14 hours
#2 Vietjetair Ho Chi Minh to Da Nang $55

Return
03 Aug - Jetstar Ho Chi Minh to Melbourne via Singapore $315.46 12 hours
Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh $55

Total $744 return

Kind Regards,

Matthew

Hi Matt.
I'm currently looking at the AirAsia site, where they'll fly you MEL-DAD on 31 Jul, DAD-MEL 30 Aug, for AUD622.32 (but there's only a few seats left...)
Flight time outbound is about 13Hrs, return about 18Hrs (due to a 6Hr layover in KUL).
Hope this helps.

I'm sorry I might have confused things - I want to return by the 4th of August and go for approximately 1 month. Earliest I want to leave is 24th of July.

I got a bit excited then but then realised it crossed over with my uni semester.

Sorry, my apologies about the detour!!

In that case, it looks like you're going to be travelling in peak periods. If you can get that itinerary for $744 during that time, then you should probably snap it up before it disappears. You might want to try out the AirAsia & Vietnam Air sites for various dates inside your timetable, but I doubt that you'll be able to beat what you've got.
Good Luck.

You might be able to find this itinerary cheaper during off-peak periods, but as has been said, this is a peak travel time. And that is still a good price.

I had a terrible experience with VietJet in late 2013. Their schedule was so elastic, it was ridiculous. I received countless notification of flight time and flight number changes right up to the week of the flight. Impossible to plan around unless it is your only flight that day. On the day I flew DAD to SGN they were so many hours late (six or seven from memory) that it ended up being their last flight of the day, despite the fact they had another 2 on that route scheduled.

Do not rely on them for a connection the same day, which I did not, thankfully. At the time I was worried I would make my flight the next morning ex SGN.

I was left with the impression that they did not have the aircraft or the pilots and cabin crew to cover their advertised schedule. That lead me to worry what else they might be skimping on. I would never fly them again.
