I'm surprised they honoured it. Great news. But at the same time bye bye to AS availability I guess for the next 12 months.

Wow just read the news on Twitter - I got in with 2 J return tickets HAN-YVR - never thought it would stick. Now to plan the holiday. Need to get to / from HAN but for my dates it looks like LM is good for SYD-BKK-HAN and return. I've seen "mistake fares" before but never booked as I always figured they would be cancelled.

Also rapt that I got 2 x HAN-SFO F tix in October for $2300 USD and redeemed some KrisFlyer points to position from SIN, and all this happened on my birthday :):D

Now my gf doesn't complain about me lurking on " those travel websites" anymore :)

looks like that fare is not available anymore

Is there anyway can we get this fare or not …

I hate myself what a deal I missed it

how do one know that airline has mistaken I imagine it would be hard to find these sort of mistakes

Best to watch the flyertalk mileage run deals forums for deals like this in the future.

Wow, didn’t expect Cathay to honor it in full. I was lucky enough to book 2x HAN-HKG-BOS Return in First for $1200 USD each. Nested this ticket into an existing SE Asia trip in Koh Samui/Bali in March so positioning flights are minimal expense.

Will credit long hauls on CX to AS earning at 350% (55k AS miles) and the connecting flights to AA or QF. Based on the 55,800 AS miles earned (enough for a one way QF biz from Oz-US) I’d argue that the miles earned are worth far more than the underlying mistake fare.

Great NY’s present for all that got on board.

A lot of people seems to have got in on this one even though the booking window was only 3-4 hours. To those that got in do you check forums/blogs a few times a day? Or did you get an email/call/alert from friends or others?

I think it was much longer than 3-4 as it seemed to be open almost all day NY's day. I just stumbled across it in the afternoon while doing my daily quick look at FT's Premium Fare Deals thread (usually takes less than 30 seconds as so few deals are of interest to myself). I've seen various mistake fares over the years but never booked one (before now) as they are usually cancelled - just took a punt on this one.

My regular trawl through daily websites includes the Flyertalk Premium deals thread among other travel websites. I might look at it twice a day, but I hasten to add I probably check OzBargain more like three or four times a day.

The booking window seemed to be about 10 hrs by the looks of the thread open time stamp and the timing of J/F inventory being removed.
