Bring US Dollar folding notes to .vn.
You will get 7-9% more than the official exchange rate at gold/jewelery shops while .gov tries to prop up a sinking currency.

Planes. Flew Jetstar domestic a few times. Planes were like 99.5% full around christmas, so Jetstar is doing well, it would seem.

Flew Jetstar to .sg, also good load factor.

Cant really say anything about .vn, other than other places like LOS are better and have more to offer.

Unless you have a way of getting $US without fees I would suggest $Aus..you can still get excellent rates though yes slightly harder to find the best places...but not too hard.
