Vinomofo Wine Deals

Not bad selling out so quickly considering as VM basically gave nil info away. Seriously what info did they give apart from price, shiraz, year and region. and of course price.
So is the new marketing policy one were they tell you nothing but make you buy as the 70% reduction is too good to not take up. **** we all like a deal, but at the same time only sell a small quantity to increase the competitive nature of us wine deal seekers.

If past experience is any indication it will come around.
Just need those that bought to reveal otherwise we would be none the wiser.

PS: Just go to show the secret doesn't need to be revealed for it to SELL.

Just a thought. Did REDBIGOT got IT?

Seems a fool and their money are soon parted.

There's no way I would have bought that deal with the information provided. The percentage discount means nothing if the wine is undrinkable.

If this is the new approach from Vinomofo, then I'm out!

I bought a dozen of the deal a couple of months ago on spec and it was the Tomich 1777. Excellent drinking at $15. At the risk of offending pinot drinkers - if I was paying $60 I'd be drinking shiraz 'cause I don't get the value from pinot - but this is very good and I'm happy to have it in my cellar - particularly at $15.
pinot is such a graceful wine , much easier to drink than the classic s,cs,me,ma, but when you get several layers of complexity, you are in for a treat. They say it is the most fickke to grow, and Randall tomic makes supurb ones....i777 in point, plus the stunning thirty bucket they have. Maybe your palate us suited to heavier styles as well, but.......do yourself a favour and explore. Surely you get bored to the shyzen with shiraz and cab all the time?..the spice of life is...........?

I agree, however of the 35 2011 Hunter Shiraz' over $50 that JH reviewed only 3 scored under 94 and none under 90. So the odds are in the buyers favor. I don't like not knowing what others are selling it for though.

Black Market Pinot Noir $15 from $50

I think this is Henschke Giles.
>> Alc 13%
>> rrp $50
>> Cellaring 2020
>> Closure screwcap
>> Impressing father-in-law >> Henschke would :)

Problem with this is on the Hensche site it states "Exceptional vintage, 15+ years (from vintage)."

The VM site says cellar until only 2020.

Very big difference.

I don't rule it out just because of this - as we all know how deliberately deceptive Vinomofo have been in the past with the information they provide in these types of deals.

Not sure i would call Henschke boutique either

Last week I received my wooden case of Thomas Hardy and the nice cardboard card on the inside said something like 15 + years ??? but on the back of the bottle it states 8-12 years. Could be way off on these years but the thing that stuck in my head was the glaring inconsistency with what was on the bottle and what was on the cardboard in the box.

WineSelectors says drink until 2020
>>Henschke Giles Pinot Noir 2012 - Wine Selectors

I see that. But why would VM take this date. Surely it would be in their interests to take a date well post 2020 as per the Hensche site - surely most people would be interested in buying something that cellars for a longer period of time. I know that with the size of my cellar I just can't consider something that only cellars until 2020 as I just wont get to it!

Doc

Just invite us over to sample some of your stock and your problems go away.

I'd love to have a get together with people in the wollongong area. More than happy to supply a few bottles. There's nothing better than sharing a good bottle.

Coincidentally i received this afternoon a bot of 2004 cabernet from a w.a. producer sent by registered post as well, and gratis. Reason being I pointed out on his back label that one of his 2011's, which i have, had the description that inferred it was to peak about 5-6 years after vintage. It was worded quite poorly. This gentleman, probably heading towards eighty not out with a medical specialty behind him took this on board and will probably change his label wording in his next vintage. Not bad to take this on board i thought. Wineries know that they must label properly and the thomas hardy situation is very poor.

Im wouldn't be so confident. I did a quick calculation tonight and conservatively I believe I have enough wine to see me through until 2028 at least.

I also think Vinomofo is booming. IIRC they touted having shipped over 2m "cases" (I guess six packs) - that's a serious business now

That's incorrect....... whilst I can vouch for the quality you imbibe, i can see that you are obviously not drinking fast enough.....

I think it was Hungerford Hill Collection Hunter Shiraz 2011.
I got the 2010 on a similar discount and RRP.
