I can't stop thinking that good reputations could be ruined by going for a quickish type of buck.Seems prepared in a rush as ALV is not mentioned.

93 points from Halliday which would put me off. He's been known to give some seriously average wines 93 points in the past. The lack of other info on the wine would also deter me.
I seem to remember another poster rating the Pudding Stone Shiraz from the same producer, same vintage, same price point recently on here though so I may be wrong.

I received a six pack of the Cantiniere last week and thought it was sensational value for money so immediately ordered another 2. Had tried the squid ink from dans earlier in the week and was pretty underwhelmed by it . Just down to personal taste I suppose.Yep. I guess at least in this instance it is available for sale through their website, unlike the cantiniere which was a sell out, I mean 'sold out'

I had an absolutely divine Grosset Gaia 1997 cabernet last month. Later discovered JH gave it an 88! Guess the points were a bit harder to come by back in the day..Funny thing JH points - he has on numerous occasions given high scores to wines I have hated but on the other hand he has given scores of 89-91 to wines I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Hi Cotzy
It's Hewitson's The Mad Hatter. I've boomed on this due to positive comments from others. I also have their Mother Vine shiraz which is a pretty nice drop.
Thanks!
EDIT - Oh dear, there are some super fast keyboard warriors way quicker than me. Apologies!
I think the Mad Hatter ($24.50) is far better than the Mother Vine ($11.50?) & Ned & Henry. My wife loves the Ned and Henry ($13.90) which value for money is probably the best of the Hewitsons.
The last time i grabbed some Mother Vine it was at the same price point as the Mad Hatter is on for now.
Latest VIM offer not much of a special.

Anyone here tried the Madeleines 'Willowburn' Cabernet Sauvignon 2009? Also interested in hearing from anyone who has tried the Sugar Loaf Pinot?
Your thoughts on the wine?
