Anyone tried the Art of war shiraz on The Fo? Been wondering that people reckon that have tried it. Fo/Teusner

I've had a few of the previous vintages. In general they have been competently made wines. They have been very fruit driven, but without a lot of mid-palate complexity. Good quaffers but nothing spectacular.

The 15 in my opinion was rather good. Medium bodied very smooth. probably easier to drink than the unity at this point in time. Unity was darker, fuller bodied more complex. Huon hooke gives the new 16 artisan 94, and rated number 1 on his 2016 sa shiraz list

i Tend to trust his valuations a bit more than other reviews
Also agree with delectable blue, decent wine nothing spectacular. Decent enough for me to buy it lol

I like the artisan cab sav both coonawarra 13 and hilltops 15. I'm pretty novice when it comes to tastings but I didn't think the shiraz was that special - I mainly gave it away as gifts because it had such a pretty label and bottle.

Thanks for your take on the Artisan Shiraz, under $120 for a 1/2 dozen seems reasonable for a wine of that RRP but only if it's worth drinking (which is my only benchmark!)....

Anyone tried the 2013 Maximus GSM VM are flogging today for $9.90? Never tried their wine before. Looks good at that price.
I tried a few of the Maximus wines at a wine dinner a couple of years ago. The make a big range of wines for such a small winery. At that time none of them seemed worth buying at the standard price. No faults perceived, just not exciting for the $25-$30 price. At $10-$15 some of them may be good for drinking now, the vintages are older than most others in the area are offering, probably why they are trying to clear stocks via VM.

Thanks RB. Must admit i'd never heard of them. Just took a punt as well on their 2013 Temp / Grenacha for only $15. 95 James Halliday & 94 Campbell Mattinson. I bought it based on the latter as that's a pretty decent score for him. Fingers crossed its drinking well.

Looks like the choices might be:
Beresford Classic GSM 2015
null.gif

Haselgrove Switch Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2016
null.gif

Red Knot Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre 2016
null.gif

Tenafeate Creek One Tree Hill GSM 2016

Based on past offers my guess is Haselgrove.
