Vinomofo Wine Deals

Tried the Curtis Grenache - it is very light and not overly powerful. I can understand why some don’t like it and not sure who would pay RRP but for $15 a bottle with the AMEX offer it’s easy drinking for a bottle i’d be willing to pay double that for.
Be interested to hear about the Mitolo 2016 if anyone orders it
I think you should at least try one - Wine is subjective and you may well like it :)

Hi Gustino; you are correct just kep in mind that this is the Ironstone version from Great Southern area and not the standard wine from Margaret River. Cheers Rug:)
Thanks, Rug! I like the cab-merlot better over the Shiraz, hope to see that on mof_ soon. I'm looking forward to using the Amex offer on it. :p

You'll find that Shiraz has been re-offered and re-stocked numerous times (I first ordered June 22 2017). The Cab Merlot from memory has done neither, and was gone in a day or so when last listed (about June 6 2017). Not sure when next vintage is due, but I'm not putting my hopes on it being listed in coming weeks. Unfortunately.

Boomed on the Amelia Park shiraz and the Twins cab. I've run out of quaffers and those Twins bottles are also excellent for space efficiency in awkwardly sized Vintec shelves.

It's actually been a whole year since my last boom, compared with about a dozen cases in the early days of the fo. The bigger they get the less irresistible deals they can offer it seems.

I actually don't like the sloping shoulder bottles. My cellar has openings big enough for 12 bottles, which I stack on top of each other, and the sloping shoulder bottles too often do a kamikaze...

Ah, mine allegedly has space for two rows in each shelf, necks nestled together. But you can't fit the normal bordeaux in that way, so unless you have sloping shoulder bottles too you lose half the fridge capacity.

FYI sloping shoulder bottles are more commonly referred to as Burgundy bottles.

Cold call from a broker yesterday worked, offering a 2014 Rymill cab for $16, and a 2015 (I think) heathcote estate shiraz for 22.50. Dont usually buy when they call me, but couldnt resist a couple of my favourite wineries

I have a lot of bins that fit about 18 bottles horizontal, others more, I only put the burgundy bottles on the top row.

With stelvin seals, I store a lot of bottles upright now, particularly the burgundy-shaped bottles.
