Black Market Shiraz 2013 - Red Wine | Vinomofo Australia

Always sceptical when reduced so dramatically but any ideas?

Theres the Wine Enthusiast review for Glen Eldon Twisted Trunk Reserve Shiraz 2013 - seems to match the VM note

Crepuscular in color, this wine is as mystical on the nose, with scents of purple fruits and violets. Despite the foreboding color, it is impressively fresh in fruit and structure on the palate. That’s not for nothing, as the wine is dense, mouthcoating in extraction and decidedly full-bodied. The eucalyptus freshness aids the medium acidity and relaxed, creamy tannins impressively well. Perfect for big game or duck confit dishes in the midst of winter, this doesn’t have to be popped open soon. It will age well for snowfalls to come, so enjoy through 2024.

Edit: this was 92 rated - doesn't mention it above

The only thing not matching is the score "96 Points Wine showcase Magazine"

Cruiser Elite purchased the 2006 vintage way back Oct 2013 for $30.
How was the 2006 if you can remember.

By all accounts the 2006 was a better drop than the 2013...it has me curious though

The 2006 Glen Eldon was good from memory but it would have been a fair while back that I had it. I think I have one in the cellar. I am trying to confirm via broker if this is actually the Glen Eldon, in which case I'll grab a case and try one along side the 2006 at some point in the near future.

I bought the 2006 Glen Eldon way back when and didnt particularly like it, think i still have a bottle or two sitting in the cupboard. Thought they were a little over oaked for my liking.

Wouldn't surprise me. Now I need to pull mine out and check.
Confirmed that it's Twisted Trunk.
There a RRP $150 in todays email which I am told is also Glen Eldon - I assume Old Vines.

I bought 2 cases and I am undecided whether to return at least one. It is a definite McLaren Vale Shiraz, however is it as described and worth the original price? Which would lead to the next question can I buy better $22 dollar wines .Well maybe I will continue to sip my through this before deciding .I agree it is still showing its young age, however glass 2 has settled a bit. Definite spice, cherries and blackberries, guess that would settle for Black Forrest :)
It is a fantastic! Like it

Got this:

Black Market Cabernet Blend 2013 - Red Wine | Vinomofo Australia

Have been asked to put some 'care' packages together for some friends. A dozen wines with Halliday scores of 98 pts or more. Recently got the latest Halliday and have been ordering primarily from that. But this one will also be included in the mix. Enjoying doing it, as it means I'll end up with a dozen different wines myself, rather than the usual 6 or 12 and then having to wonder about what to do with the excess.
