Sadly, I doubt I'll be posting in this thread or much elsewhere at the moment. I'm taking a break from wine posting as a recalibration of the use of my time. I'm loving the extra time and am putting it to good use. Thank God. Also, I am not buying wine at the moment. Needs must with a season of tough grace.

I preferred the 2012 but still very good. My notes on 2013: Too young in 2015. OK in 2016.

Aside from a cellared bottle or two, ran out of 2012 by 2017.

You're correct in saying they've dropped it - had some to check - don't know why?

I am scratching over the Black market 12 pack which includes 8 red/4whites. My stocks of wine bottled in the last few 2-3 years are minimal. My 4 Fo cases in the last 2 years, have all been good. I know theres a Maverick gsm in there, probably that norfolk island grigio which unfortunately i found a bottle last year was terrible, the arturo shiraz which aint bad. The more and more i think the more i get a tad worried, but if one of two of those bigger reds are good it just might come in. still time.

Wozza, it is a very tough gig to suddenly stop what you not only like, but what you love to do. Your wine reports were always great reading and we all know this will be a temporary hiatus for you. I just noticed VM is now on CR and SB. Is this only recent? I'm sure it wasn't there last I checked. Letting others know, as I'm usually a compulsive CR user, but somehow I missed it. Currently 5% CR, has hit 8% SB previously.

They have previously been on CR but that was years ago. Wish I’d realised when I placed an order last week.

It wasn't to my liking, I found it quite green, spicy, overly peppery and quite light for a Maverick. The mrs didn't mind it, stating "There was an initial sweetness, with a nice unique punch afterwards, not peppery". Just my tastes I suppose, and I love Maverick Cabernet (I also loved the Hand Crafted Lagrein 2015 which I know others had a dislike for). I may be looking to return, really preferred the GSM 2018 over this Shiraz.

Edit: Ive held off from buying the '18 cab blend so far. Not sure on the 'Medium bodied' and 12.9%

I really liked the straight Cabernet from Maverick which is really saying something as a confirmed shiraz aficionado, but I'm talking 2015 vintage not the latest crop. A lot of peeps on here really went for the GSM but for me it was the Cabernet that floated my dinghy....
