Vinomofo Wine Deals

Thanks Red. Was hopeful but didn't think it would be so.

It was a while ago that they offered the heathcote estate. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the future
I tried the 2015 sunshine creek last night. Was aerated into dencanter and sampled, was just ok. Tried again two hours later and much better. Shall try again tonight and expecting good things.

Just got the Covid cure with a purchase and a T.Hanks covid man buy of the 2018 Reserve Harewood west Oz Cabernet at $111 for 6.
My notes of an earlier Fo vintage were great so lets see what this brings. Last night thoroughly enjoed the last ever bottle of the 3Oceans 2012 cabernet which was a Fo buy a while back and what a tremendous one at that. One that you would not quibble paying $35 for but was about $12.

I’m down to my last 2, they were a good buy.
CT says I paid $14, but still a bargain

just received the below:

Hurry! Half price frenzy is only until 10am AEST tomorrow! Every single wine is 50% off, and that's just the minimum! Buy now or regret later! Half Price Frenzy
Stop to 0428937830 to unsub

Called up and asked for 50% off Coleraine. She laughed. Guess it was worth a try...

None are Heathcote Estate.
The two (2015/2015) at $45 RRP are Sunshine Creek, the $50 RRP (2016) is Mitchelton Toolleen.

Spoke to the the guy at Nick's a while back asking who got the Tatiarra fruit. He confirmed it goes into the Mitchelton Toolleen. It will be the equivalent of the Cambrian. Caravan of Dreams is the pressings

I think you had a better chance of getting that for 50% off than this guy had of getting the Harrier:

Thanks for that. They have taken the Cambrian fruit and added a few quid to it. $50 at cellar door and $25 in this black market deal.

Went under the house to pull forward a few of the purchases a few years ago as cases and cases have just been resting nicely. A bit of a joke really as i have to crawl through the small doorspace in the garage , then under the bedroom floors on solid clay to grab the cartons. Oh well, seemed to have preserved them well so it's worth it. Been sleeping with a Hyundai under my bed for years. Happy though as not a dodgy one in the last gross or two. Anyway, 2012 Witchmount cab 2012 tonight, one of the first dozen Fo buys and what a delight. Typical higher acidity VIctorian wine has made this last and taste incredible fresh with heaps of cherry flavours and a lovely medium weight. Damn it's good, just what the Fo used to do every single week.

Hi All,
Looking at the lucky dip (1/100 chance to win a grange). With promotion Code Vino comes down to $134/12. Are the wines worth the price?

Yes you're absolutely right, must have had a senior moment 😐...
So when you think about the thread name, I remember it exploded about 3-5years ago with many supurb offerings and the beauty of The Fo's sale or return campaign was that you could return a case if you didnt like it. Absolute no brainer as being the best marketing campaign ever for wine. So in the years that followed of wine enjoyment, i cannot remember a dud. This is why Ian i don't like hearing your comments about a mediocre wine that you recently mentioned. Ring the buggers up and get a refund. However if you think the wine will grow on you or improve significantly, then hold. You have to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to run away, know when to begin afray. sorry, i went into my aggresive self there.

But in my time of enjoying good wines which is only about six weeks, well maybe a few decades longer, wine don't improve all THAT much. bad is bad. I havent had too many Chelsea Clintons turn into elle macphersons and so not to be too impartial, i havent had too many young tony abbots turn into Fabios either. And for all the remaining fifty six different sexualities out there, go and find out for yourselves.

Now, i have enjoyed my harewood estate 2018 reserve Cabernet immensely. Just landed yesterday and it is a complex thing. Cool climate great southern grapes. Dont rely on me to guess, it actually mentions this on the back label. Ahh i like to confirm things. It says that it has been matured for two years in new and one year old french barriques. Ho ho ho mon amis, put on that stunning, brilliant, fantastic ' living in the chateau tv program and bring out the baguettes, the french mustard and the old barstard in me. Rick mayall was one of my all time faves so i am chanelling Allan Bar'strd here. Back to the wine, you know when you go to the sink and have a spit, the spit is the colour of a blue/grey grape. damn odd people. Normally its a deep ruddy color. I have drank the whole bottle in the space of the lst hour and that tells you something. I am probably over point oh five, but this is a really well made wine. Not a piece out of place. And back to improvement. the label says its been sitting for two years so if they plucked it in march 2018, its now only been in glass for four months.

it will improve which is bit contary to what i said before. but cough dont improve.

moral here - good stuff has more chance to improve but who the hell knows.

have a good weekend Ian.....and all.

Bravo. The long slow decline of the ‘FO is inextricably linked to a similar reduction of prosaic reviews. Less ridiculously priced quaffers, I feel for the younger generation, who haven’t lost their minds on $12 Ironscraper.

To be honest having had a second bottle over the weekend the 2018 is better than OK but not quite as unified as I would have liked, I'm laying the other 4 bottles down for a few years and will revisit once rested...
Hey @beefarmer I think you've gone a bit off-piste there, I've taken advantage of VM's return policy more times than I can remember but with this particular wine I liked it enough to give it a couple of extra years in the cellar

Sorry about that WandD. Missed your follow up, probably because I was unindated in the other forum with all the magnificent inexpensive offerings. I did realise about three years ago that I either better up the imbibing or stop buying so much. I chose the former thankfully. And some of those mof_ offerings have really make me smile, and my teeth purple and don't start on the Devils Whiskers.

Keep well
