Vinomofo Wine Deals

Does anybody know what this is?

Interesting that VM Uncovered provides a description but does not name the wine. Given it's a 2011 release, I'd have some concerns regarding the current condition of the wine.

I’d put money on it being one of the strangely named d’Arenbergs. The description talks about multiple single vineyards with different characteristics. eg. d'Arenberg The Piceous Lodestar Single Vineyard Shiraz 2011
You are definitely on the money there! And it makes sense!

With the hint from VM page, I can only narrow down to 3 series that has 95 pts from barefoot review

2011 The Fruit Bat Single Vineyard Shiraz
2011 The Piceous Lodestar Shiraz Single Vineyard Shiraz
2011 The Vociferate Dipsomaniac Single Vineyard Shiraz

Without the backstop of the VM return guarantee, I wouldn't touch a 14yo 2011 McLaren Vale red with the proverbial barge pole.

I bought some of the 2010 Vociferate Dipsomaniac last year and it’s drinking fine - Haliday has the drinking range out to 2036 so it probably depends where it’s been stored.

Agree. I highly doubt that there will be any issue with the 2011 being offered. I'm buying without hesitation.

I would acknowledge, though, that some may not understand the differences associated with an aged red and think that this is a fault with the wine. If you don't like aged reds then don't buy. But a 14 year old McLaren Vale red should be drinking very well and still have some years on it from a quality producer like d'Arenberg. I also wouldn't be concerned about it being from 2011. Not as bad as many will make out (I have posted on this previously indicating the flaw with the rankings for this year).

2010 was a very good vintage down there, 2011 probably the worst of the century, so far. It might be Ok at that price, unlikely to be great. Even Marius struggled a bit that year.

Just received an email from VM with the usual "Beat the clock" shenanigans advising me of "the lowest price ever" for Pirramimma Earl

Yet it is still available for $32.50 using the link below
