Virgin added new destinations to bookings

FWIW, I've just returned from Capetown last week. I flew on SQ and booked through Singapore airlines on SQ flight numbers.

I earned both status credits and points based on the Singapore airlines earn rate on the Virgin Australia website..... I didn't however earn the "bonus" points for being a platinum member.

I do agree that it needs clarification though as the sin- Mel flights were code share as they had alternate VA flight numbers ( flown on SQ metal)

Interestingly booking to HK ex-SYD or MEL routes you with SQ via SIN and not Virgin Atlantic ex-SYD.

Ok, this whole thread is confusing me. I'm not sure what needs to be clarified. You were on the SQ flight not the codeshare flight. Having a codeshare available does not mean you earn accordingly if you haven't actually booked the codeshare flight number.

So if I now book the same flight to cape town, through the VA website BUT I fly on SQ metal - do I get the sc's and points as per the Virgin long haul earn with bonus points or it at the SQ rate?
