More than you would think fly on the likes of EasyJet!

For the short hops in Europe, the LCC are common choices primarily because they fly to Luton which is close to Motorsport Valley and means avoiding the M25 and getting home quicker. (Or back to work quicker if you are the boss!) The McLaren boys have been known to get private charters out of Farnborough for the same ease of access.

Short-haul LCC use is okay if you are a short skinny racing driver, but some of the larger engineers and mechanics aren't impressed by it! :D That said, I don't think anyone was impressed by the hour-long wait to be assigned a baggage carousel at Gatwick after the Hungarian race (flying MA), but the immigration queue is apparently better there/LHR than Luton after a race... Ah, so much fun in the F1 circus... don't even get started on the visa problems! At least V8Supercars avoids those...

F1 teams and drivers fly commercial more than you'd think. Jenson Button was a regular on BAs NCE flights when he lived in Monaco. I was on the same flight as Christian Horner, Adrian Newey and Martin Whitmarsh when I went to Singapore last year.
I guess which way they travel depends on the depth of the teams pockets (the above names were all in F and there were other McLaren team members in J)
