Virgin Australia Business Class - Meals, Menus & Service

VA950, BNE-SYD lunch service. Choice of some sort of salad with optional chicken or this pork belly. One of the better meals I’ve had on domestic flight, at least in memory. Overcooked broccoli could’ve been discarded with no loss to the meal.
Was offered exactly the same meal choices on CBR-OOL a few days ago. Was a bit surprised it was a lunch service given it departed at 10:30am and arrived at 11am (just ticking over midday down south, I suppose).

Pork belly and veg was really nice - loved the sauce and the smell of fennel. The other option was mushroom pasta salad with optional chicken.

Snack basket with potato chips, nuts, cookies etc was passed around at end of the meal for us to take as much as we wanted (apparently getting thrown out otherwise).

Great service from flight attendant who chatted to passengers throughout and ensured drinks etc were full.

VA77 CNS-HND on Tue 29 Oct, the main meal was nice without being great (chicken a bit boring), but everything else was superb. Wonderful service from Laurence, absolutely pitch perfect. Plenty of drinks, snacks offered, etc. Central Otago pinot noir is always lovely. The fried rice (chicken again!) as the second light meal was good. Also had a nice flight up from SYD.

7am Melbourne to Sydney
Breakfast.

Some quiche like thing, with some beans.
It is actually quite nice. The 'pie' thing was savoury, and beans were a little tangy, sweet. Goes well together.
Cake is ok.

Omelette with bacon and the same cake on my BNE-SYD flight. Full cabin and still ended up with my first preference even though the others ahead ordered the same as 2 decided to skip the meal.

I have an evening flight this Thursday and because of late booking the business fare was worth the increment. Are they serving spirits in J on SYD-MEL flights at the moment?
