Virgin Australia flights to Doha now on sale

Presumably peeps are booking “VA” flights.

Not being able to select seats via VA is pretty poor.
Not sure about award flights, but with my cash Y flights with VA, I got a corresponding QR booking code that I could use for seat selection. Whether or not the tickets they’ve bought include *free* selection is another question altogether…

I booked business rewards seat, VA Z class. No corresponding QR booking code in the booking confirmation

Yes that's the problem. Same issue I had when flying ANA on a VA coded revenue ticket despite people saying use ANA PNR etc it simply did not work for seat selection until T-24 and that was on ANA website only. VA have little sway with partners it seems.

I didn’t find it in the booking confirmation email. Either on the page immediately after purchase or in the VA app (I’ll try and do a pic). Here is my original post on my experience. Might still not help you :(

As you would have been logged into your VA account to make this booking I’m assuming it shows under your “trips” in your VA account.
  1. If you use the VA app, tap “Trips” on the bottom bar.
  2. Go to the relevant booking and tap on the relevant (any?) leg of that booking.
  3. Tap “Manage” in the top right corner.
  4. Tap “Edit trip” (I was nervous about this at first but no need to be). Takes a while to load.
  5. Hopefully, there you’ll see “Partner airline references”. If you do, tap on it. Fingers crossed you get a QR booking reference there…
HTH

The “Partner Airline Reference” is not present in the app for these new wet leased flights.

But in relation to the “wet lease” flights, there shouldn’t be a QR booking reference if booking direct with VA as either cash or points flight.

as you’d expect.

it makes a bad impression on Qatar airways as well, such a big partnership and cant even add online seat selection. sounds like low cost airline

Velocity has just released Reward Seats on the VA flights between Australia and Doha. It looks like there are up to four Business Class seats available per flight, and many more in Economy.

Get in fast!

These are also available using other programs, I booked VA1 using Aeroplan in J
