What sort of things does everybody think that John Borghetti will announce at this Tuesday's 2011-2012 results?

Can't see any new airplane orders as they already did the B737 MAX a few months ago, unless they are going to take on some new B777s for international?

New routes? Can't see anywhere they really need to add to their domestic routes but some extra internationals maybe on the back of a B777 order might be good.

In some ways do they need to announce anything apart from the fact that they're tracking well, or maybe they will want to spin something positive to show up a fairly negative reaction to Qantas FY results?

Even if they ordered 777s now they wouldn't get them for 5yrs so no point announcing routes.
I also very much doubt DJ will be expanding its own metal Intl.

Will be interesting to see whether they report intl separately given it is in a different structure with different owners now.

I think most will just want to see the results! No flowery garnish, just the facts and I'm thinking the facts will be pretty good.

Especially with the "knowing" grin shown a few weeks ago during a certain interview...

I think we will see some network changes e.g reductuons and capactiy increases,

I'm expecting good financials, minor reshuffling of domestic routes and nothing else spectacular. Hope I'm wrong would be nice to see something new happening.

DJ could expect delivery in 18 months so long as its only two.

I'd like to see them announce the purchase of a small 748 fleet... Just because they're pretty, not because it makes sense!

I would not be surprised if some 787s are ordered, would be interesting timing!

Just keep doing what they're doing, with gradual improvements in service. Perhaps lease some more A330s for C2C and rotate them around the triangle (e.g. PER>MEL>BNE>PER etc).

Actually, now that I think about it, I say they really should order those 748s, and use them to start a BNE-JNB route to replace the SYD-JNB they ran briefly with a 777 with not quite enough engines. I'm eyeing off a J Velocity redemption to South Africa sometime next year, that'd be really convenient :D !

That would be giving the competition a free kick with the ACCC!

More ATR's gets my money. Also i think more a330 possibly 300 series. We will know tomorrow. Im also guessing the embraers will go as the new ATR come online
Just my thoughts

Hypothetical scenario: could they transfer a 777-300ER to Virgin Australia (NZ), stick a ZK rego on it, and use the 330 minutes ETOPS allowed under NZ regs to fly SYD-JNB 'directly'?

Hah! I like it. Although I'm not sure I'd like to be on a flight that far south and lose 50% of my engines...

I assume that if they could do it, they would've done it when they were flying the route.
