Seems a bit strange that it is currently not available on flights originating in Hobart or Perth.

Notes to editor in the news release do include HBA (and refers to select flights departing PER soon):

Can anyone confirm that this system still doesn't tell you the bag was loaded onto the aircraft? As far as I can tell there are 2 events:

1. Bag checked in at XYZ (here's your receipt number)
2. Bag on carousel X

I noticed the timestamp for 1 is after check-in when already in the lounge, so it may in fact be the loading of the bag onto the aircraft...

Am a tad concerned by what I'm seeing....

Travelling DRW - MEL - BNE, so checked in luggage at self-service Darwin kiosk. Sticker label and baggage receipt shows BNE which makes sense. Got to MEL just now and the app says luggage at carousel unfortunately I didn't see this until I got to the hotel.......Any ideas? Otherwise will just have to get there earlier tomorrow to sort out I guess.

Edit: Got up this morning and status changed to "bag checked in MEL".....phew! Thanks

I flew LST-MEL-BNE, got the "Checked in at LST" notification shortly after check in and then about 20 minutes after being in the MEL lounge I got the "Checked in at MEL" notification. Didn't check the app after that as I was checking my Air Tag status instead.

Is anyone else getting random tracking notifications?

On Friday I got a couple of notifications about my luggage being on its way to DRW and today I got one about check-in to Hobart.

I was not on those flights or any other.

Weird.

This was live last month. It was active for a flight I took from SYD-BNE (but not BNE-SYD the week before).

What was interesting is that the VA app, live tracker, airport FIDS and FlightRadar24 all had different departure times for my delayed flight.
