Click here for a list of current Virgin Australia discount codes:

A while back VA had a discount code that could be used for (almost) any domestic booking.

Are there any discount codes that work at the moment?

Thanks!

Tried MCU43 for J class ADL to CNS 1 stop Melb Flight 16/01/24 didn’t work, on booking 21/11/24 😔

For anyone looking for a permanent 5% discount, try NRMA.

If not already a member, you can get a base membership, no car, for $5 a month, often waived for the first 6 months.

There are some blackout dates, usually a week here and there around school holidays. But otherwise works well. I use points for the black-out hates when prices seem to go up.

Discount applies to all business and economy fares except lite.

This is the source of MCU43 and nearly every other code I've been posting. There are significant blackout dates in the current code so I'm not sure it can really be called "permanent"
Hmmm… next year’s dates do seem a little more restrictive than this year. For 2024 blackout dates are: 28 Mar - 29 Apr 2024, 21 Jun - 22 Jul 2024, 14 Sep - 13 Oct 2024. In 2023 you could shave a week or so off all those periods.

I use my points for those dates, or Rex, as the VA fares seem to be up by $100 anyway, negating the discount.

Thanks Mel I missed the part that it had to done on NRMA portal 🤓
Well… I dunno. I don’t know if there are different codes depending on the day or month. I can’t actually see the code when going through the portal… it just applies it automatically as a member.

Possibly not, A dummy non NRMA portal booking for 16/10/24 ZQN-ADL using MCU43 indicated about $16 discount on a choice fare; $0 on lite. The "special" tag was displayed against prices.

After searching with the NRMA widget, it redirects to the VA site and the URL partly reads promoCode=MCU43

No need to launch the search through NRMA, and there's no check that you are an NRMA member.

Was going to use ZXW75 on a few business class flights domestically. I see that the status credits don't show on the website against the special fare. Is there some reduction or worse when using this promo code? The biz fares are cheaper than using VUZ11

I flew over the weekend on a booking that used the promo code ZXW75. I received Velocity points & SCs as expected, but the flight credited to my Virgin Australia Business Flyer account as "Not eligible to earn points". Not sure why - I called VABF and they told me it should have earned points. But now I've just been told after following up by email that it's a "corporate fare" and therefore ineligible. Very confused.

Time for the 'please explain' request.

Time for the 'please explain' request.

I replied to the email asking for clarification as to why this flight wasn't eligible to earn anything. I got a response quoting an irrelevant section of the VABF T&Cs. So I queried it again, and was just told it was a "corporate fare" and therefore not eligible to earn.

I cannot find anything in the VABF T&Cs stating that corporate fares are ineligible, nor do I understand what made my booking a "corporate fare" in the first place. I can only assume it's due to using that particular promo code. But I don't think I'm going to get anywhere with VABF - their responses just keep going around in circles.

And with this and other issues, almost zero chance to escalate. If the computer says 'no', a human isn't going to override it :(

I dunno. A while back there was a promo for triple points on bookings through corporate travel agents. I received no bonus for any of my bookings through FCM. They said my travel was for personal purposes (it wasn't) with zero justification for that. I had to argue til I was blue in the face but eventually got the Velocity manual adjustments.
