Virgin Australia to lease more 737s

They (VA) do use the 320 for ADL - PER flights.
Not nice being squashed in Y, have done it once, not again!
Coming back was an E190/F100, can't remember now.

Was it the A320 when you booked or were you downgraded from the 737?

First, I was to fly on the 737, this was a while ago, long ago maybe.
I had econX on the 737.
Then, it got swapped, to the dreaded 320, of course, the econX on these are over the wings and for that, they say you must be able to (while seated), lift a 25kg door and help the crew in an emergency, so I moved my seat, as I am not really able to lift the 25kg door, (tried to lift a 25kg dumbbell, hard to do while seated, lest even while standing).
So there I was, near 4 hours sat by the window, with a largish Indian lady who of course, lady spread her legs wide, into my spot, and also her husband's spot as well.
Ever since then, I have/had been hoping VA would take the 320 out of the ADL - PER route, but its looks very unlikely that it would happen.
Coming back, I think it was a F100, looking at the photos, with the 2 engines near the back, and that plane not having a rear door, out by the back, noisy as, but still, a good experience, had got a seat next to me as empty, comfort seat booking.

Nearly all ADL-PER flights this week are on the A320 and then next week it flips and most are on the 737

23 rows is roomy but in a good way. The current two are 22 rows (noting the 2 of J cabin + 3 of Economy X). This should mean all seats are at least 31" unless they go with some Economy X seats on these (which I don't believe was the plan).

I reckon I've been on this plane around half a dozen times in the past 3 months. The yellow cloth seating reminded me a humid SE Asian flying back in the day.

I wouldn't say I noticed a real difference between the level of comfort with these new seats. Some say they aren't as comfortable - I wouldn't say that's the case.

Well I guess we won’t have a mixed seat offering if they are installing I assume new seats in all these -700s as above. Like Rex who have old and new Virgin seats, Jet Airways seats in the latest one.

I would guess VA is installing the same slimline seats as shown in IXJ's cabin pics a few posts up. But throughout the whole cabin in the all-Y layout.

Are those still with 5 rows of European J, and the middle seat blocked ones?
As shown on seatguru?
If they keep 5 rows of J, that would be nice, even though its the middle seat ie B and E are blocked.
Wonder though if VAd is going to keep it as it is, or take out 2 rows of J and add their econX into the mix.
Guess it can't be that bad, if they are now leasing instead of buying, so their overall costs will be kept low.
Edit: or are they are going to use these for transTas flights.
Ah, so I see, seatless, so VA will add seats to their own specifications.

According to the current fleet lists maintainers across a number of websites, the proposed layout is 138Y (different from KLM's 142Y), so it's possible there is probably another EconomyX row to compensate for no J when they are used on non-FIFO routes.

Whether if the old VB 'Premium Economy' method where they block off the middle seat in the first 2-3 rows would be used for 73Gs, who knows?
