Thanks for the update, but what happened to the Samsung Galaxy trial that started months ago (April/May) and nothing has been heard of since...

WiFi/Tablets are not an acceptable IFE solution

We have introduced this. Currently we have a limited amount, however we are in the process of rolling out to more flights.

I was not aware of this. Nice.

I've always wondered why the promo for android tablets has been in Voyeur for the last few months but no sign of them..

A little snippet I noticed in an article about VX's delayed implementation of BoardConnect:
#APEX12: Lufthansa Systems and Virgin America postpone BoardConnect debut to mid-2013 | APEX Editor's Blog
Lufthansa Systems is also preparing to launch a BoardConnect trial with another Virgin group carrier, Virgin Australia, on a single Boeing 737 after announcing the testing in late 2011. “We can’t make any announcements for Virgin Australia, but it is going to be within the next few weeks,” says Müller.

That article is dated 20 September 2012. Nevertheless quite disappointing that we're coming up on nearly a full year since the announcement of this system yet there doesn't even seem to be a trial running. Doesn't seem much chance of anything being in service by the end of 2012 as originally promised.

Virgin FAIL on IFE, a tablet solution that sits on a tray table is not a solution, plus the new Samsung's lack content

Yes the volume is pathetic, no-where near loud enough and I have very good hearing

I use my own headphones which makes it fine, but with such limited content I take my own device, which is a pain to me!

They lack content, usability, volume and apeal !!!
Actually, travelling this weekend there was a noticeable improvement in the volume level.

I felt they upped the replay volume on content rather than tinkering with the devices.

Something else I noted was that the volume control at the top edge of the device did not react unless headphones had been plugged in.

I had the Galaxy Tab on a flight last week (business). I used my own QC3s, but there was enough content that I didn't bother using my iPad :)

I tried a Galaxy tablet in business. Not much content and not sure how often it is changed. Also when it is in the stand reflection off the screen is very bad, I don't like looking at myself when watching movies.

Content is changed monthly and seemed a little better this month, of course that's temporary, once streaming starts it will obviously be much bigger on aircraft with the capability.

Content is entirely a personal thing. What I like someone else will not. You can never please everyone.

Totally agree Mark...on East Coast flights I do not bother with IFE.

I used to watch the flight data on channel 13 in the old Virgin seat back IFE but that's about it
