D class is for defence travel booked through select travel providers who have access to the code. Fully refundable and changeable.

it allows 32kgs of luggage but not lounge access. Also, no points are earned.

People I know (which may or may not include myself) who have flown DJ on defence bookings have been allowed in the lounge. Sometimes it has been mentioned at check in to the passenger, other times they ask at the lounge and the staff member looks up the booking then welcomes them in.

Noice:lol:

A Federal Government department (not Defence) has booked me flights to Canberra on Virgin (through QBT, ironically). I have a D class fare to Canberra and Y class fare from Canberra. I am not a public servant. Can anyone confirm the entitlements for a D class fare, in particular luggage, and points/status earn. I do not see the D fare on the Virgin status earn table, while the Y segment will presumably earn full economy rates. Any ideas?

D class on DJ is actually DJ's Whole of Australian Government (WOAG) fare (not limited to defence). In my pre-status match days, I was always welcomed warmly into the lounge when traveling on DJ D class fares. However, I have never been able to find it documented anywhere.

Concur that there is not documentation anywhere, and differing stories in differing threads regarding D class lounge access. I assume that as a WOAG fare D-class earns status credits but not points?

The documentation is on the e-ticket tax invoice they send out.
In the terms it says fare is elligible for baggage, flexi meal, entertainment and lounge accesss.
Some corporate travel providers send their own invoice - mine sends both and it clearly states lounge on the virgin invoice.

Flew on this fare class last week; I had no virgin invoice, just my QBT invoice, so no firm documentation. Asked at check-in and absolutely no worries on lounge entry. I was also checked-in to my choice of seat in row 5 (economy), which seemed well up the front for check-in 60 minutes before departure on a largely full plane. No points credit, but full economy status credits (20).
