Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

It's been like that for several weeks with oblique reference here and there ...

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

And the 6900's are gone on the 30th :( Was good while it lasted and at least I booked a few flights and changed dates!

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

So I have quite a few flights booked under the "cheap" scheme..

If I need to change dates/times will I be "upgraded" to the new pricing ?

I'd hope not... I have a booking for June 30th. that I need change the times by a few hours.

Nope that's why I booked a number of flights on the 30th only to change them to different dates and times when I could see reward availability with my same class...no cost at all..

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

I am having trouble getting my points refunded and $$ refunded correctly.

I had a heap of J points+pay flights booked before the "enhancement" these were return flights!

I cancelled quite a few return flights in full, and these have been refunded correctly

However the flights where I have made changes to dates and/or cancelled only one of the flights, have not been processed correctly.

I have a BIG task ahead of me for reconciliation it seems :( :(

Same issue here. I waited for 3 weeks, saw the refund of taxes but no points then called Velocity. Points were refunded manually within 24 hours.
I did not know/notice that the 'cash' portion is non refundable!

Hmm, I have an outstanding refund, where I have got the cash component back, but not the points.. Perhaps a phone call....

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

From what I have been told it's a manual process for these refunds as the change in points/$$ required doesn't allow for a more automatic process.

I will need to reconcile both points/$$ and work out what I have flown/cancelled/paid/have been refunded

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

If you do a min points and max pay refundable booking redemption and then you cancel it, do you have the option of getting the max points rather than all your cash back (i.e. you'd essentially be 'buying' points)? How do you do this?

I hadn't thought of this, but I would assume the refund is simply exactly what you have paid in both points and $$.

Credit card surcharge is not refundable on any fare it seems!

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

It seems to vary from person to person - some people get back exactly the points and cash they paid (less the CC fees), some people seem to get 100% points back instead.

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

Just over six weeks ago I cancelled one of the older (now "enhanced") 6900 points points and pay business bookings. It was booked with a $188 co-pay.

I was "refunded" $145 and 13,800 Velocity points?!?!?

So you essentially 'bought' 6,900 points for $43 (as you got more points but less $ back).

They only cost .6 cents per point - I'd be pretty happy with that!

Re: 30th June 6900 redemption rates - one day only

Seems like a total mess to me!

Will have to get a nice spreadsheet going for this
