Virgin Flyer 2-For-1 - Significant negative changes from Dec 1

I think it's the same with all these 'free flight' cards. They're only worthwhile if you save the fee. I reckon I save ~$800 per year on this card on trips that I've always made and will need to continue to make indefinitely (the long trek north to see family). So it's worth it for me as long as it continues to save over $129. It's unique to my circumstances & destinations though. I'd feel totally dudded if all I used it for was the golden triangle.

Apart from this and the AMEX, are there any other 'free flight' cards? The AMEX range looked quite unimpressive to me.
