Virgin lost their minds?

The only disadvantage is that plane lands in melbourne 11pm instead of 9pm. But - it is a new A330 aircraft - J catering with children's and vegan etc meal requests actually honoured.

I hope you do us a TR for the new Air Pacific J product!

Took the family to HBA last year from BNE. Total cost $1134 all flexi. Looking at the same this year and its $1974. That's hard to swallow, an $840 price rise. Even the Saver is significantly more than last years flexi, at $1485. By way of comparison, Jetstar is $400 less at $1098. Not even WP benefits justify spending this sort of premium for one trip.

With the $49 sales at the moment you should consider flying into Launy and driving down :)

(And yes, I am aware that this is beside the point ;) )

Will definitely check it out for the dates I need to fly. Thanks for the tip.

ok had a look. (Sept). Same sort of price, but no direct so multiple sectors, which is a consideration if upgrading.

No need to be concerned with the multiple sectors Jama. 'J' class is not available on flights in and out of Launceston. However as a Plat you are eligible for row 1 & 2 seat selection at the time of booking.

Well it seems as if something has happened! Virgin has just opened up saver fares on the dates I was having problems with.

I've just checked 13th and 27th June, Mackay to Brisbane. I didn't bother checking any more, but imagine it will be similar.

Flights down from $279 to $129 which is reasonable.

I was speaking to a guy on my crew last night that just booked about 9 months worth and most were at $49

Only problem with booking so far ahead is you don't know if you will be working for the same company that far down the track.

I wouldn't even consider paying such a premium price with no upgrade.
