Hi guys..

I had a few questions about joining the Virgin lounge;

1 - If i have a corporate rate which is $120 Joining + reduced annual fee do I still have to pay joining fee component if I wait until I am silver to join?
2 - if I do pay to join and become Gold sometime in the future (likely) do I get re-imbursed the rest of the year or does the remaining time carry over until after gold has lapsed like qantas would?

Thanks
Tim

1. The joining fee is waived for Velocity PS members: https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/en/experience/at-the-airport/lounge/#prices-and-membership
2. Previously if as a Lounge member you reached SG or WP you would receive a pro-rata refund for the unused portion of your Lounge membership, however it appears the T&Cs have changed and this is no longer the case: https://www.virginaustralia.com/au/...ul-international/lounge-terms-and-conditions/

Specifically point 3 (j):

Virgin Australia does not provide refunds or extensions as a result of paid Lounge Members becoming eligible for Lounge access by virtue of their status in the Velocity program.

3. VA Lounge passes are not physical passes, they are recorded electronically on a Velocity member's account, and as such are not transferable.

.

How recent was this change?! I've got a private message from VFF when I asked the question saying I could get a pro-rata refund once I hit Gold (Which I expect to get by month's end), this is only going back late-June/early-July - I'll be chasing my refund down regardless.... - Loune Angels in Brisbane told me the same thing

They snuck that one in!

If you can reach Gold by the end of the month, just wait it out instead of farting about paying and then trying to get pro-rata refunds. You're not missing out on too much.
