Does anybody have first-hand experience of using the $129 voucher after closing their Virgin Money card?

From memory there was a suggestion account needed to remain open. Suspect that would be hard to enforce once the voucher is generated.

I closed my High Flyer card in December last year and used the voucher in February. Was no issue for me.

Given that I've seen these vouchers sold on sites like gumtree, I can't imagine it's a problem whether your account open or not. The vouchers appear completely independent of your account.

I used it after my account was closed and it was fine. As long as you have already gotten the email with the voucher code on it before you close the account, then all is well.

As others have said, not problem but from memory, the voucher had a 6 month expiry.

Jumping back into this thread reminds me, nearly time I perhaps re-applied for this card - have had it 3 times and closed the last one about 4 or 5 months ago.

Has anyone seen anything better than 100k points lately (with 25k suspended for 12 months 😡)?

Anyone think booking a Jetstar flight through the Qantas website would count as as QF spend to unlock the complimentary passes and bonus points for a Qantas spend?

Thanks

This thread is about a Virgin card, so not sure why this is relevant.

But, if you are on the Qantas site, and only select a Jetstar flight, you will be redirected to the Jetstar website to make the purchase.

Thanks for the reply... Sorry for the post in the wrong section. Trying to post on a phone... bad idea!!

So, i just applied for the Flyer card, and submitted a copy of my drivers licence, a payslip and Medicare card. And the Virgin money email bounced back, saying the inbox was too full. Great start !
I might have to send hard copies via snail mail.

Generally, how long does it take for the application to be approved and the card arriving via snail mail ?
