With delivery of the next A330 to Virgin (MSN 1407) I would expect more flights to be ex BNE, where VA are currently training their engineering team to start doing the maintenance. Should be interesting to see if it happens, BNE-PER could be a case of VA A330 versus QF 767.

From everything I've heard, the next A330 will be used to make SYD-PER all A330 flights. There are no more A330's on order, so BNE may be waiting a while.

When is the next one due for delivery? If its imminent, there may announcements around its deployment at the earnings call tomorrow morning....?

I heard two gates are being upgraded for A330's in the VA terminal at BNE. Seems silly to upgrade them if you're not going to introduce services.

Newman f#cked up the working relationship with VA. Why would they want to serve BNE ?

Happy to be proved wrong, but I cannot find any source that they have any more on order....

The fact the first of the next batch has a MSN would be a start ;) , they are not ordered direct so Airbus records show 5 from 5 already delivered.

I would have thought that VA was more likely to make business decisions based on passenger numbers, rather than who the premier of the state is !

But I still can't find anything, anywhere saying that they are leasing additional A330... Apart from XFG

The fact XFG is not part of the original plan should say something, probably hear more over the next few days but aircraft orders tend to predate announcements by a large margin, for instance QFs 738s announced last week were ordered Dec 27.

There is atleast 2 A330s arriving this year, XFG in Apri and XFH around Sept/Oct.

BNE-PER A330 confirmed in todays results announcement along with news of 3 more A330 additions to a total fleet of 8.

The A330 flights are around 8 O Clock, as in AM and PM ex BNE, VA 464 and VA474 and now bookable.

Heard the CSM on todays flight mention to other hostie that A330 cabin crew slots are now open for BNE-SIN :oo:
