Just wondering as a plat when cancelling rewards ticket for dom travel in any class, is there any penalty? whats your experience?

Typically, there is a fee of AUD60 or 7500 points to cancel a J award booking (I would go for the cash amount).

The fare rules for the ticket will give the exact amounts in your particular case...

If the agent is in a good mood sometimes you can get a cancellation without penalty, but treat that as a gift rather than an expectation as certainly they don't have to.

Domestic award is cheaper IIRC; $35 or 4,500 points.

thanks guys, i called to cancel 4 people on my pnr and was not charged. thought that was a lucky break. although he asked when did i book, and was within 24 hours.

just cancelled another one (48 hours from booking) and not so lucky.
