VPE is out of Wellcamp and its way to BNE before heading off to NAN (and onward to their US based financier/bank), assumably for longer term storage.

Wonder why not non-stop?
Maybe the ferry flight crew (US crew?) may need to clear Australian customs in BNE? May not have customs and immigration stuff at Wellcamp?

Or maybe a safety thing to make sure all landing gear and flaps etc cycle once and confirm all working okay, before heading out over the vast Pacific ocean?

Or might be a duty hours thing for the ferry crew if there are only 2 or 3 crew?

VPE is scheduled to leave BNE for NAN in about 35 minutes (at the time of this post). Assumably it's the ferry crew appointed by the bank/financiers of VPE.

Interesting to note it’s being operated by a ferrying company set up by an ex Virgin 777 Captain.

So do the airlines get a chance to pull things out like seats, IFE or other bits and pieces from the cabin? Or are the seats also leased?

I do recall VA (and TT) pulled out the J and Y seats from many of the 737s that never returned from its lessors (and eventually made its way on a few of the ex-SilkAir units).
