Virgin seat allocation fail - IMO

I would have thought that VA would not allow a couple with two lap infants to sit in the same block of 3 seats unless they blocked off a seat for the simple reason that there is there is generally only one spare oxygen mask in each row of three seats (4 masks) so if there are 5 as in your case & a decompression incident somebody misses out.

So following the golden guide rule ...... 'fit your own mask before assisting others' mum and dad are sweet ...... Then you get to the awkward 'Wisdom of Solomon' bit ......as they toss up which cherub gets the spare mask ................ Sort of puts the whole 'should I be a tight wad and put the kid on my lap' or the 'should I fork out the cash for an extra seat' equation into a bit of sharp perspective also doesn't it ..... ?

Very good pick up there OzBeach ........ 5 bodies into 3 seats with 4 masks .......... That is a mathematical dilemma you don't really want to have to contend with ......

They take in to account the row in front (or behind) so you would have 5 between 8 masks.

My parenting advice is buy a seat once you child gets to 18 or 20 months.

Also there is no way I would move to a middle seat from an aisle seat, no way in hell. Frankly, the OP should have taken A/C or C/D seats.

No there are potentially 3 people in the other row, so that would be 8 between 8 masks. Unless there was also an infant in the other row.
