Logical point/s were given, even if you don't agree with them as staff/fanbois

As with most things you post you make the basic mistake of assuming that if it wasn't important to you it wasn't important to anyone else. There is a complete logic breakdown here.

Let me explain ...

Virgin have/are spending time/money with cbr the company running the survey. Unless a company is doing this market research for free ?

The value of spending this money is related not to whether they spent the money, it is to do with whether it allowed them to better spend the much larger amount of money that they spend on sponsorships.

Let's say they spend $10m a year on sponsorship and the information gleaned from the survey means they get a 10 per cent better return on that $10m. Then the value is $1m or more to the company. From that you subtract the cost of the survey and then you can work out whether it was a "waste of money" or not.

As I said I got to the end, and didn't submit it as it asked me nothing about what is important, but was just all about who I associated with what airline

This is actually very important information to VA in the context of spending millions of dollars a year on sponsorship. The fact that you didn't submit it is only important if they didn't factor in the idea that a lot of people wouldn't submit it.

As i said, sadly for you, your opinion is not that important. A relatively high non-response rate is actually pretty normal and your failure to fill out is of no great importance providing a statistically useful number of other people did.

Re: Received VFF Invite to an Australian Chamber Orchestra concert which got me think

Why sadly for me ?
Why would I care that my opinion is not that important ?
Why do you try to make personal insults when your dear little airline gets negative feedback ?

I see so little value in Virgin and what they offer, I spend my $ elsewhere, that's easy enough for me

:D

The icing on the cake seems to be the lack of a J lounge in CBR too

Re: Received VFF Invite to an Australian Chamber Orchestra concert which got me think

Bloody Hell there is some agro on the forums of late, appears even the fanbois are finding it hard to love the airline ATM

Hmmm... because your entire argument is that the survey had no value because you personally didn't fill it out...?

All i'm attempting to do is demonstrate that your personal response has little to do with the value of the survey to Virgin.

Which by definition would preclude them from being fanbois ;)

Well i got an invitation for a virgin survey today and they told me my opinion was important to them.
Clicked on the link and it said they already had enough opinions.
So 777 is right my opinion counts for nothing.:(;):p

Sorry DrRon. It may just mean they've come to their senses and decided it's a waste of money to ask?

Understand that, and regardless of my dislike for Virgin, I have emailed my feedback to them before, which did receive a personal reply that covered off all points. I'll do a MEL-CBR-MEL flight in April to see the new lounge for myself...

However, as much as I go on (and on and on) on here about it, VA loads and yields do continue to grow so they are doing something right, which is a good thing. If it wasn't for VA, the QF product would be a very very very sorry state of affairs about now..

At least a few other people on the first page of this thread have also agreed that the survey is not really what you expect to receive so at least I am not the only one.... Oh and if there was a space for "any other feedback" I would have actually clicked submit on the form....

Re: Received VFF Invite to an Australian Chamber Orchestra concert which got me think

Let's say they spend $10m a year on sponsorship

I wish they'd sponsor me......by way of cheaper fares.

Personally, I find find sponsorship of elite sportspeople to be distasteful and irresponsible and I find the Aussie "win at any cost" attitude actually makes us losers every time. Shane Warne should have been cut loose years before he was for the poor sportsmanship he continually displayed very publically, but instead we pander to poor manners because he plays a sport well. Sorry, sport is first and foremost about sportsmanship and the behaviour like he displayed should never be rewarded. Bernard Tomic is the most recent example of a good player, but poor intellect (his neurons are certainly not yet complete) which in my book makes him a worthless loser (just now, hopefully he will recover and return to normal .....if people stop telling him he's god and showering him with money). The list goes on and on. Companies like VA need to stop funding poor behaviour (they don't like it if we drink too much and become obnoxious on one of their planes but they fund the very same thing from sportsman and are apparantly proud to do so). I'd much prefer the Westpac model of funding Surf Life Saving than funding an egotistical, bucket of overactive testosterone. How about funding special needs schools or Hetty Johnstones Bravehearts, or mental health respite facilities or ........... the list goes on.

Rant over! (they didn't send send me the survey, but nothing new about that, they don't send me anything)

Same thing happened to poor Shrek, maybe they don't like doctors? ;) :p
