Hi, I've just registered on this site so apologise if this has been discussed before.

Over the past few years I've flown on Virgin (Etihad) using rewards seats. I've started looking at flights to the UK next July/Aug in Business Class rewards for me, my wife and our two kids. I've noticed the taxes per person per route (Syd - Dublin) have jumped considerably to $640 per person from approximately $70 when we flew in July past. What is the reason for this?

With regard to EY / VA redemption charges you can read here..not a tax but a new "charge" introduced for reward seats on EY flights

Or the Velocity site also explains charges ( Table 2 )
