Based on the loads I've seen on this route recently I'm surprised they even have 1 direct flight a day - there were 70 pax on a 737 last weekend (CSM told me). Rows 3 and 4 completely empty. Don't know why they're not using an E170 on this route.

I think the poor timings are jeopardising their success on this route. If JQ has 3-4 flights a day and Virgin one poorly timed flight - who are you going to fly with? 2 E190s (one morning, one evening) would make far more sense, and boost numbers on the route (making it more feasible for the business market due to better timings)

Sounds a fair bit like the QFi dilemma don't you think

12 noon did seem like an odd time - I would have thought a 9am flight on weekends at least to capture people going away for the weekend would make more sense!

PS NTL is horrible as an airport - a never-ending wall of sound and a great chance to get thoroughly soaked with every flight.

Virgins new Bundaberg flight also has poor flight times.. QF do 4 flights a day.. VA do one at lunch time only.

I would use it all the time, but would need a morning and afternoon time to make it work for business..
