Virgin Voyages Access Keys for 79,999 points on the Velocity Store

Update to my Loooong wait for Access Key, (purchased on the 4th of this Month)
Rang Voyagers again (dreading this ..feels like Im dealing with TelstrašŸ™„). After a long wait while the rep spoke to her supervisor, she came back and said I am on the list ..(distant Party Whistles & cork popping going off in my head) But then comes the ..BUT Im sorry you don't have an Access key.. Whaaa so then I asked as per advice cant I be given one over the phone?. Rep says No thats the problem usually we could do that but you Dont have one to give šŸ˜©.
Rep says her Manager is looking into it and will get back to me tomorrow in an email. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

This offer is back again, this time for 99,999 points (1000 keys available, redeem by 4 Dec)
I'm already booked on the Sydney-Burnie-Sydney on the previous offer. I'd consider it if there were more Sydney options available, but I don't want to have to burn more points and fly to Melbourne.

An odd suggestion, if you paid for the flights you wouldn't burn so many points. Plus you'd earn some points on the flight booking.
Does that drum up your interest ?

Iā€™m seriously thinking about this (my wife and I are both early 40s).

Is it a good experience for two parents getting away?

We typically wouldnā€™t cruiseā€¦

There are some stunning towns around there all u need is a car to access.
Which is why we have rented a car. If stuck within walking distance of the ship you may be a tad underwhelmed.

The shore excursions are pretty expensiveā€¦ I know they have benefits in not missing the boat, but I canā€™t justify the spend for the attractions chosen

We are currently on the Singapore to Sydney voyage and loving it. The food and crew have been outstanding.
Iā€™m going to burn some points and book the 6 night Melbourne-Sydney-Hobart.

Also on the Burnie special. Having been to Burnie multiple times Iā€™d suggest the journey is more important than the destination šŸ˜ˆ
Tasmania has so many spectacular locations, but I canā€™t say Burnie is one of them. It does have a terrific craft brewery though. With the exception of Hobart, the major cruise ports in Tasmania are not particularly attractive compared to other parts of the state. If you want to see the really beautiful parts of Tasmania, you really need to travel by car, unfortunately.

Has anyone taken any of the cruises? How was the experience? Any tips..
Ours is booked for departure on February 15th. We did get a chance to go onboard and have dinner and watch a show on December 6th while she was docked in Sydney, I can definitely give that experience a thumbs up.

Looking forward to our trip, we booked our restaurants on New Years Day when the dining reservations opened up.

Yes, we took the Aussie Mermaiden cruise.
We had never been on a cruise before as I really didn't like the idea of kids running around, so not having this was the trigger point for us booking.
The restaurants you book via the app are 5 star, just incredible fine dining. They don't have any buffets, which I also loved (table service).
The service from all the staff was second to none and they couldn't do enough to remember our names and help whenever we needed it.
The gym equipment is the best of the best, latest Technogym.
Highly recommend buying bar tab credit in advance and if you are Gold or Platinum Velocity, getting the status match done for some extra benefits under Deep Blue Extras.
I'd recommend booking the entertainment in advance as they book out and are just spectacular performances.
We stayed in a Sea Terrace room which has a nice balcony view.
We've already booked out next cruise with them for NYE in 12 months time.

On a side note, our cruise had Richard Branson on board, so it was nice to meet the man behind the brand :)
