Virgin's A330s still right to start flying this week?

Please tell me that was witty humor.......It is witty humor isn't it? Who's flying Mr. Joyce himself

Or Better. Red Roo.

I can imagine the twitter posts now...

"On board VA J. It's no Mark Newson Seat and who is this Luke Mangan anyway?"

;)

It should be HOT STEAMING COFFEE.... I take it you haven't seen the commedian, Pam Ann?

"Are you Fu....coffee?"

;)

watched it: ummm well - let's just say i wouldn't pay to see her.... she obviously gets some of the nuances of flying - but all the stuff is the same - and hardly funny: though the horse-faced BA ladies is spot on ;)

O/T but she is much better in a live show than on the youtube clips. I have seen her live in Melbourne last year.

Also took a flight from SFO to LAX with her last year. She's a really nice lady, so quiet in real life! Was a great buzz to see her in F with me on AA (Same row, just Window seat on the other side).

Yes, I agree. I saw in London a few years ago. Never stopped laughing...
I can imagine she would be even funnier in Aus, pleanty of jokes amoungst the Aus Airlines.

I hear she is in Oz in August. I'm planning on going to see her.

Best part was I was in the front row (was at the Athenaeum here) and she kept giving me a knowing smile, indicating she remembered me from the flight. Fortunately, she didn't drag me up on stage:)

Just got off the first 330 revenue flight. Very nice aircraft, great crew, and very impressed overall. Only downside, is the flight was missing the usual Virgin " launch of a new product" type hoo har. But never mind. A couple of beers in the lounge and back we go.

Oh and we left 1hr late, arrived dead on time. Its fast and its not even red :lol:

I actually applaud the lack-of-hoo-ha. It shows they're trying to aim at a business market and not the leisure end.

Some fun is great, but doesn't need to be over the top to make a statement (and perhaps the lack-of-Virgin-"flare" made more of a statement than anything?).

My question now. Is it just the old EK product patched up? Is the IFE loop based out back of the bus?

From the looks of the AusBT review, it may well be a looped system, with multiple options. It doesn't say much (but mentioned a full review would follow). You can read it here: On board Virgin Australia's first Sydney-Perth A330 flight - Flights | hotels | frequent flyer | business class - Australian Business Traveller

Surely there is no way they would launch with that system??

I was under the impression that J was AVOD but Y was loop based... (as was the Emirates system)

I think you're probably right there.. I will find out tomorrow morning in J and Sunday in whY.

Not that it bothers me as I mainly work or watch movies and shows on my laptop.

Can confirm economy is Loop. No idea on J Im poor :(
It worked OK, I was in Row 14A over, worked well, allocated 7K back, moved to 9A, which was a good thing, as the armrests in Row 7 are fixed and the screens/controllers are on the armrests, effectively reducing seat width, which may be of concern for those like me with a slightly wider Girth.
The Entertainment also still features the camera for underneath and also Pilots view, which worked well.
I was on a saver fare, and was really impressed, BTW, Entertainment is free for all fare classes on A330, and legroom is quite acceptable, will try to attach a photoDSCN0671.jpgDSCN0682.jpgYou can see by the leggroom, there is heaps of room, Im 5ft 10 and the seat in front was 6 inches away.
