Virgin's Blue Room

Recently (Sept '03) travelled Czech Airlines (CSA) from Frankfurt to Prague, and back again, and thought they were fine. Not entirely frill-less, but decent enough for a short flight. Flew Turkish Airlines from Rome to Istanbul return, with internal flights (Sept '01), and thought they pretty good. I'd fly Turkish from Singapore to Istanbul instead of flying QF to Frankfurt and then hopping on another flight to Istanbul.

My experience with Turkish was a number of years ago but I am sure the food was fine, except the FAs apparently didn't know how to use the microwave. All the meals on the short flight from Istanbul to Kyiv were icebricks. Perhaps I missed the point that they wanted to give us something to take home and enjoy on our own dining room table but it was a bit funny trying to eat these offerings, even though it was in the days of metal cutlery.

Complaints were met with comments that as the flight was short it was difficult to do 'everything' for the passengers in the time allotted. Geez, given the airline they could have given us a kebab each as we were boarding!!
