A few other winieries to think about, near Cullens are Pierro and Gralyn. On the Bussell Hwy we enjoyed Beckett's Flat and also Bettenay which seem to have added cottages and Nougat since we were last there, Tom Cullity Drive. Lots of good places, I really don't think you can loose!

You will have a great time GPH :) A very beautiful part of the world.
You probably won't get a chance this trip but the tree top walk at Denmark is also very picturesque (if you have a head for heights).
And if you get a chance try the Marron.. if you pass an old truck advertising Marron on the way be assured they are fresh.. they are still alive!!

Thanks for the tips. I can see I shall need another trip.

It's a great place ... I look forward to the wine reviews from you when you get back. Last time I was there I ordered 48 bottles of wine from Cullen, Vasse Felix, Leeuwin Estate and Evans and Tate ... and expensive holiday but well worth it.

Wry smile. We like the Chocolate Factory in between the wineries and lunch at Vasse Felix. Ah, the days before kids ;)

If you need something to accompany the wine, Margaret River Venison does sumptuous smallgoods!

The venison chorizo is to die for, and they have some delectable pates, too!

+1 for Cullens wines. Also they do very nice fresh lunch platters from their garden.

Totally agree on Cullens but you know there are 106 wineries (at last count) and not many bad ones, Cape Mentelle do film nights which are a lot of fun.

I visited in June last year. Was a little disappointed. Barossa more interesting i thought. There was a sense of arrogance in many of the places that i visited in MR.
