I'm still waiting to nab pics from MrD's phone from our Grand Canyon trip, but I thought I'd add a few more thoughts from the trip. Oh, and we found the remaining ducks :D
  • Vegas is stupidly hot in June, and if we weren't travelling for the expo, I'd not choose to go in that heat.
  • Drink lots of water! First thing we did was get a slab of water bottles from the Walgreens across from the hotel, and we took several of them each with us as we went out and about.
  • Take lip balm. I am not normally a lip balm person, but that heat, the dry air and hot wind, all the air conditioning which is also drying... my lips were destroyed after the first couple of days. Thank you Burt's Bees!
  • Sunscreen of course, and also moisturiser. My hands got really dry too.
  • Cash is useful for tips of course, but we got by with our card in most places. I've read ATMs in casinos have large fees to use them, so plan ahead and find ATMs off strip.
  • Comfortable shoes! We did bucket loads of walking, so you want to be sure you've got comfy shoes.
Also, I said I'd report back on using the MyVegas rewards. I used a redemption for the 50% off Excalibur Tournament of the Kings dinner before I left, that was easy because it was online and I got a code to use then/there. Another one was for the complimentary photo after the Maverick helicopter tour - I just showed my printed voucher at the desk.

While I'd picked a few other redemptions, we only used one other while there which was a two for one coughtail thing at a bar in Park MGM. I needed to have had an MGM Rewards account, then at Park MGM I went to the MGM Rewards desk and showed my account and MyVegas rewards. The staff member was able to link the two, and issued me a players card which I then used at the bar to use the voucher. Simple as.

Other rewards include hotel rooms and freeplay (if you're staying in a paid for room at that hotel) so if Vegas is on the list, and you don't mind playing bingo, blackjack or virtual slots to earn points for redemption, I'd say it's worth it. I might keep it going in the off chance I get the opportunity to go back to Vegas (probably as a stop over) and maybe I could get a 'free' hotel room.

I just arrived back in Vegas and it’s 45 degrees. Forecast to get to 48 on the weekend. That will break the all time max temp for Vegas, which is 47.

Good pool weather, but certainly not for walking outside. Luckily a lot of casinos are connected. It cools down at night though to about 30 which is nice.
