Voluntary flight bump

I was at SLC in Utah earlier this year when a call came over to "please help us out over here at Delta". Giving up the direct flight into EWR for a likely more circuitous route (or possibly even next day, unsure) would have delivered up compensation of a USD$1,000 voucher ...
Now that's more like it. I love hearing those offers from carriers when in the USA.

You mean flying PER-SIN-SYD/MEL than PER-MEL ?

I'd something similar, it was much cheaper to fly SYD-AKL-MEL than SYD-MEL :D

That's pretty much it. Except the game was in Perth, so Singapore airlines east coast to perth was cheaper than the domestic.

Yup, we are expensive when it comes to domestic travel on, I'd like to say, full service airlines, but I'm tempted to say, only QF :)

In my situation, I had to book a last minute SYD - MEL to visit a friend, but the return fare worked out as A$1200 in Y. But I did SYD-AKL-MEL-SYD for less than A$800 :D

VA is the official carrier of the AFL - what is their capacity looking like at a similar time?
VA have 16 flights with at least 100 of 2688 economy seats available for sale (there is a smattering of Y9's so it could be a little more than 100).

I think you'll find that the Broncos are playing in Sydney this weekend, so there's no point in flying to Brisbane.
Some other time.
